I-What is MEDVIL?

  The term MEDVIL comes from the combination of two words Mediterranean and Village, but why this combination?

Lebanon is a country that lies on the Mediterranean Sea and is well known to be a cultural bridge between the orient and the occident. The concept of MEDVIL is to develop this idea and make it more concrete.

In this vision the NCA (Nature Care Association) established a compound named MEDVIL in Chabtine a village of the rural region of the CAZA of Batroun (Botrys the historic city of the Mediterranean). The compound MEDVIL will receive young Mediterranean groups (around 100 persons), all year long, at very low prices.

MEDVIL will be held on a land of 12,000 m2 areas, covered with different kind of trees (oak, pine…). The ABS GROUP a professional engineering company will be in charge of the plans and design of the MEDVIL; Environmental friendly products and materials as wood and rocks will be used in the construction.
The compound will comprise number of cabanas and tents, toilets equipped with shower, a restaurant, a meeting hall, sport courtyard, activity park, etc...

 
  II- MEDVIL objectives:
  One of the major objectives of the MEDVIL is to receive through all the days of the year groups from different countries of the Mediterranean and the European Union. At any time of the year, more than one group will live in the MEDVIL plus the Lebanese group. The fact of coexisting in the same compound participants from different countries of the Mediterranean shall have the opportunity to know and discover other groups' culture and habits. The organizers of the MEDVIL shall also contribute in the harmonization of the activities inside and outside the compound by preparing and organizing different programs which will help young participants to better know each other.
 
 

III-Who can apply?

  Participants are welcome from all the countries lying on the Mediterranean Sea plus the European Union citizens. Participants should be between 20 and 30 preferably having previous experience or involved in environmental programs.

Groups and individuals willing to live in the MEDVIL are requested to fill the Personal History Form (AS1) and to send it to the following address: medvil@nca-lb.org
