The objectives of the association are: . Improve and maintain the welfare status of the target rural communities through programs of holistic community development. . Implement economically viable projects that are responsive to community priorities and which provide visible results in an environmentally sound manner. . Strengthen and empower community participation in environmental improvement through extensive education and awareness campaigns that build commitment to sound waste management and environmental protection practices. . Integrate environmental solutions in rural tourism and agriculture thereby contributing to the enhancement of economic opportunities in the target regions. . Engage in cost effective public/private partnerships and dialogue with policy makers on local development and management issues. . Promote concepts of good governance, civil society and democratization of the development process. .
